An opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join a UK manufacturing company that produces leading technology protection relays and medium voltage circuit breakers often employed in highly critical electrical power systems across a global client base.
This is a full-time, permanent position where you will be working 37.5 hours per week. Along with a salary of up to £50,000 per annum (depending on experience), you will also receive 25 days holiday with a yearly increase and enrolment onto the company pension scheme.
This is an excellent role for an experienced candidate, you will be required to supervise all
accounting-related activities and take an active role in the strategic leadership team of the Company.
As a Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include:
Producing Monthly Management Accounts.
Working closely with external auditors giving them the necessary documentation and support.
Facilitating a review of P&L trends.
Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
Accounts Receivable and Payable Management.
Driving forecasting for plans and cashflow.
Stock valuation and control.
Legal contracts review.
Identifying efficiencies and process improvements.
Submissions to HMRC for PAYE and VAT.
Oversight and support of HR.
Maintaining Company Statutory books.
Company Pension Scheme and DIS scheme.
Managing General and Credit Insurances (using broker).
Ensuring the premises are maintained and arrange contracts for utilities and other service contracts.
We are looking for a Financial Controller who has the following skills and experiences:
A practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques.
A solid education including a recognised accounting qualification to a high level.
Solid knowledge of standard accountancy and finance best practice.
Solid IT skills, including proficiency in manufacturing accounting packages.
A strong understanding of VAT and payroll.
In-depth knowledge of budgeting and financial forecasting.
Previous experience in a managerial accounting position.
Ability to work to reporting deadlines.
Able to demonstrate good judgement skills and could multi-task and plan workflow.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
