Production Planner – MS Excel – Engineering – £30-35,000 – Heywood, Lancashire
Leading organisation within their industry require a Production Planner with 3 years in a similar planning role with experience of Production Planning within a Manufacturing and Engineering environment, excellent MS Excel skills and have knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (no specific ERP system in place, this will be your domain to recommend)
As a Production Planner you will be responsible for ensuring the goods manufactured are produced in a cost-effective way that meets quality specifications and are ready to distribute to customers in a timely fashion whilst supporting Production Management in decision making and improvements to production processes to support the smooth running of production. You will be required to create production schedules using MS Excel, detailing all tasks and when they should be completed by to meet predicted completion dates, liaise with Sales and Engineering teams to determine customer requirements and job specifications, define the equipment and workforce needs to manufacture goods, on time in full and have the ability to predict the project duration. You will liaise with Production Management to ensure all workers, materials, and machinery will be available when required, monitor production progress to ensure it's following the schedule, work with Production Management to troubleshoot problems that occur during production, including staff shortages and machinery malfunctions, organise project paperwork and maintain records, monitor production costs, collect and assess data about the production and team's performance and prepare production related reports and analysis for review and action, to help improve efficiency.
In this role you will be capable of working as part of a team, be proactive and professional, target driven and self-motivated, demonstrate excellent communication (verbal & written), organisational, analytical and attention to detail skills with the ability to solve problems.
